2020 Dodge Durango Review

For over 20 years, the Dodge Durango has been a favorite amongst drivers for its performance and safety options, appealing to those who have a handful of people and things to carry around town and want to get there quickly. The latest entry into the series, the 2020 Durango, continues this fine tradition with even more refinement and amenities.

The Durango has variable seating options, depending on the trim selected. In the most basic trim, the Durango is capable of seating five, but this can be extended up to seven with an available third row. Optional captain's chairs in the second-row provide additional comfort for rear passengers at the expense of the seventh seat.

Amenities in the cabin are numerous, powered by the Uconnect infotainment system and accessible via a 7 or 8.4-inch touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple Carplay are standard applications for the system, allowing access to compatible smartphones while the vehicle is in use. Additional options include a nine-speaker Alpine stereo or 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, satellite radio and a conventional household-style power outlet.

Beneath the hood of the Durango, things get really interesting. The standard V6 engine is substantially powerful, providing 295 horsepower. However, available Hemi V8 configurations really up the ante, coming in at either a 5.7-liter 360 horsepower engine or a 475-horsepower 6.4-liter. With its top configuration, the Durango can leap from zero to 60 in under four and a half seconds. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Durango's power train is more than adequate for any of your potential needs.

With as much power as it has under the hood, the Durango ensures the safety of its passengers with a comprehensive safety suite of available features. These include a rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning with lane-keep assist. You can drive with confidence knowing that the Durango has an eye on the road.
