Few things generate as much excitement as an announcement from Jeep. Jeep owners are renowned for their commitment to the brand and its no surprise that the revelation of new powertrain options for the 2020 Wrangler was set to generate some buzz.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Black and Tan?

The Jeep Wrangler is going diesel, starting with select options on the latest 2020 model. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6, borrowed from the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, is on track to offer 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, this latest iteration of the Wrangler's powerplant is sure to delight Jeep aficionados everywhere.

Although the diesel is the belle of the ball, there are several additional enhancements that Jeep has in store for the Wrangler. New for this year is the 48-volt hybrid eTorque belt-starter generator that delivers steady and smooth torque. It is available only on the Sahara trim, but it can be paired with both the 2.0-liter turbo-four or the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. This kind of flexibility is stock and trade for the Jeep brand and should be a reassuring sign to drivers that, even amidst big changes, Jeep still remains true to its roots.

In addition to what lies beneath the hood, the latest Wrangler also sports several interior enhancements and amenities. An available touchscreen serves as the portal to the onboard infotainment system, granting access to features such as dual-zone climate control, while a 7-inch instrument cluster display is a standard feature across all trims. With a variety of Black & Tan aesthetic options, the 2020 Wrangler has a highly customizable interior to suit a wide range of tastes.
